Bulldogs win 41-0 over Ariton for fourth shutout

On Friday night, the Brantley Bulldogs continued their winning ways, shutting out the Ariton Purple Cats 41- 0.

&#8220Our guys, on both sides of the ball, started quickly and never looked back,” Brantley head coach David Lowery said.

The ‘Dogs scored early and wore down the Purple Cats to coast to an easy victory.

&uot;We had several guys contribute, and overall the whole team played well,&uot; Lowery said.

Senior Jonathan Helms headed up the charge with 4-of-11

completions for 69 yards while Chris Booker lead the receiving corps with two catches for 50 yards.

Booker also paved the way for the ground attack with 192 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He was followed by Anthony Gulley with 86 yards and one touchdown on six carries and James Pittman with 66 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.

Jeffery Daniels added two scores and 21 yards on six carries.

Marcus Owens contributed 5-of-6 point after attempts.

The Dawg defense was headed up by Dexter Daniels with eight tackles, one for a loss. He was followed closely by Jeffery Daniels with seven tackles, five of which went for a loss.

Justin Wright, Terrell Burnett and

Corey Latham pitched in six stops each as Brantley once again held their opponent scoreless.

The Bulldogs continue play this Friday against the Class 2A Highland Home Flying Squadron. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
