If opponents are having trouble figuring out the Georgiana Panthers, then join the club.

The Panthers have gone from the hunted to the hunter and, following Friday night's homecoming upset at the hands of Class 1A A.L. Johnson, 17-0, the Panthers are back to being the hunted.

&#8220I learned some valuable lessons,” Georgiana head coach Donald Ray Mixon said. &#8220I learned you never have your players participate in homecoming festivities.”

Mixon said his team was focused on everything but football last week and this week they have worked on correcting those mistakes.

&#8220We had a lot of miscommunications with our linemen, but they've been corrected,” Mixon said. &#8220Our players know they didn't play to their ability.”

This week's opponent, the Red Level Tigers, is a region rival game for the Panthers and Mixon said his team understands the importance of such a big game.

Red Level has three talented running backs and Mixon said his defense must step it up in order to stop the Tigers.

&#8220We need to not just hit them, but tackle (them),” Mixon said.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Panthers struggled for only 65 total yards during Friday's loss but junior quarterback Andre Paige, who suffered a mild concussion Friday, should be ready to go Friday.

Kickoff for Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
