Bowen, Owens exchange August wedding vows

Amanda Caroline Bowen and Anthony Taylor Owens were united in marriage on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at four o'clock in the afternoon.

The ceremony took place at First United Methodist Church with Bishop Paul Duffy and Mr. Brandon Johns officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bowen of Montgomery.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Windham and the late Mr. Rex Windham of Montgomery, and Mrs. Dorothy Bowen and the late Mr. Fred Bowen of LaPine.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Owens of Guntersville.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Joyce Owens and the late Mr. Roland Fred Owens of Guntersville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Finis St. John of Guntersville.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory chiffon gown by Casablanca with a gathered bodice and straight beaded waistline.

The neckline was decorated with a beautiful band of intricate gold and silver beadwork.

The front skirt was gathered off-center while the chapel-length train was embroidered with gold and silver motifs and beadwork.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Allison Bowen, of Auburn.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Milla Thompson Chappell of Gainesville, Florida, Mrs. Ashley Owens Turnbull of Huntsville, Miss Dayna Malia Watson and Miss Brandy Nicole Smith, both of Auburn, and Mrs. Amber McMillan Huey, Mrs. Lindsay Luginbuhl Krupicka, and Miss Elizabeth Ann Thompson, all of Birmingham.

The attendants wore tea length strapless gowns of coral taffeta that featured an a-line skirt with a dark brown sash.

The groom's father served as the best man.

Groomsmen were Mr. Randall John Whitehead of Panama City, Florida, Mr. Joseph Marshall Taylor of Perry, Georgia, Mr. Brandon Eric Payne of Guntersville, Mr. Albert Gallatin Henry III and Mr. Whitney Todd Wisner, both of Auburn, Mr. Jonathan Lee Payne and Mr. James Bryan Word III, both of Birmingham.

Organist Linda Gill provided nuptial music and Lee Jackson was soloist.

Flowers were arranged by Melissa Kendall. Guest book attendants were Miss Kimberly McNamara and Miss Kelli McNamara.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Wynlakes Country Club where guests were entertained by pianist Sallye Jeffcoat.

The bride's cake was provided by Peggy McKinney and the groom's cheesecakes by Libby Ousley.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.

They now reside in Auburn, Alabama.
