Miss Rebecca McLean Hickman of Greenville and Mr. Kyle Jordan Henderson of Brewton, were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church of Greenville on August 19, 2006, at eleven o'clock in the morning. The Reverend Joseph Winston Lisenby officiated and the Reverend Dr. James Meadows assisted.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Alvin Hickman of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Marilyn Melton Cook and Mr. Clyde Dickey Bozeman of Evergreen, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eual Victor Hickman of Greenville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harold Henderson II of Brewton. He is the grandson of Mrs. Milton Clarence Jordan and the late Mr. Jordan of Brewton, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harold Henderson of Andalusia.

Traditional wedding music for the ceremony was provided by Rhonda Bentley, organist; Claire Weil, violinist and Tom Payne, vocalist.

The altar of the church was flanked with two fluted columns holding an arbor-style arrangement of Virginia roses, white stock, Asiatic lilies, white gerberas, alstromerias, Kermit buttons with sprengeri fern, crepe myrtle, smilax and Kiss Me at the Gate.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of silk satin featuring a portrait neckline. The empire waist bodice, overlaid with embroidery, was embellished with Austrian crystals, bugle beads and rice pearls. The back of the gown was trimmed from the neckline to the hem with covered buttons.

The bride's veil of silk illusion, encircled with crystals and pearls, fell from a comb with the same embellishments. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangea and mini calla lilies, Star of Bethlehem, Virginia roses and alstromerias.

The bouquet was accented with waxflower and green hypernicum berries.

Maid of honor was the bride's cousin, Laura O'Neal Wiggins of Evergreen. Bridesmaids were Tera Henderson Andrew of Knoxville, Tenn. and Erin LaJune Henderson of Brewton, both sisters of the groom; Emily Youngblood Henderson, sister-in-law of the groom, of Birmingham; Sarah Whitfield Hickman, sister-in-law of the bride; Megan Diann Holston of Auburn; Stephanie Louise Phillips of Montgomery, and Alexandria Nicole Huff, Laurie Bates Johnson and Jessica Laine Poff, all of Greenville.

The attendants wore tea-length gowns of paradise blue dupioni silk. The two-piece ensemble featured an A-line skirt, a fitted bodice with a bow tied on one shoulder, and covered buttons down the back. They carried nosegays of blue hydrangea, green mini hydrangea, white mini calla lilies, Virginia roses, altromerias, porcelana spray roses, jade roses, waxflower and Blue Mountain thistle.

Serving as best man was the groom's brother, Brett Thomas Henderson of Birmingham. Groomsmen were Damon Patrick Andrew, brother-in-law of the groom, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Walton Ward Hickman, brother of the bride, of Greenville; James Edmund Agerton and Timothy Jackson Cottrell, both of Brewton; Cameron Wayne Fillingim of Flomaton; Braden Channing Jordan of Corpus Christi, Texas; Johnathan Brian Mabire of Birmingham; Preston Forrest Settle of Auburn and Clifford Anthony White of Jacksonville, Fla.

Acolytes were Patrick Edward Russell and Charles Wesley Scofield, both of Greenville.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents honored the couple with a reception at the Greenville Country Club.

The newlyweds arrived at the reception in a horse-drawn carriage. Guests dined on a New Orleans-style brunch buffet and were entertained with music by a jazz combo.

After a wedding trip to Saint Lucia, West Indies, the couple is at home in Birmingham.
