Crenshaw County is still in the game.

This week, two of the county's schools remain in state playoff action, with both teams playing host to their opponents.

The Brantley High School Bulldogs rolled over the Verbena Red Devils from Chilton County at Bulldog Stadium last Thursday night, 48-8. The Bulldogs, who have a perfect 11-0 record, will face the South Lamar Stallions of Millport, Ala.

The Stallions have an 8-2 record. They defeated Marengo 14-6 last week in the first round of Class 1A playoff action.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. this Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

The Luverne Tigers routed Cottonwood last Friday night in the first round of Class 2A action. The Tigers defeated Cottonwood 48-6.

Luverne (10-1) will play host to the Red Level Tigers from Covington County this Friday night at Glenn Daniel Stadium.

Red Level has an 8-3 season record.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Tickets will be on sale for $7 at the gate. Also, the pass gate will be located behind the home bleachers.

The Tigers narrowly defeated Red Level on Sept. 29, 14-13.

&#8220We are looking forward to a big crowd,” LHS Assistant Principal Chuck Alford said. &#8220It should be a really good game.”

The Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars were defeated during the Class A AISA semi-finals last Friday night after they traveled to South Choctaw Academy in Toxey, Ala. The Cougars lost 49-31.

The Cougars closed out their season with an 8-4 record.
