Greenville police quickly arrested a pair of suspects following an armed robbery at the Corner Stop Grocery on Wednesday night.

Police arrested Ketric Lee Boggan, 22, alias &#8220Ketchup”, and a 16-year-old who went by the alias of &#8220Meatball” following the robbery, charging both with Robbery, 1st degree.

Reports state that at approximately 7:35 p.m. two suspects entered the Corner Stop Grocery at 201 Garfield St.

and the cashier heard one of the suspects say &#8220give it up”, approaching her behind the counter brandishing a kitchen knife. The two robbers fled on foot with $50 from the cash register, leaving behind $200 beneath the cash register drawer, said Lovvorn.

Officers arrested the 16-year-old at Perdue Village Apartments. Police returned a few minutes later to arrest Boggan, who Lovvorn said had changed clothes after the incident.

The cashier identified both Boggan and the 16-year-old as the robbers, said Lovvorn, and identified Boggan as the knife wielder.

The kitchen knife was discarded when the two robbers fled, according to Lovvorn. During interrogation, Lovvorn said Boggan told him where the knife was and it was recovered on Thursday.

&#8220We believe this was their first robbery attempt,” said Lovvorn.

Lovvorn credited second shift officers Bryon Russell and Dwight Hudson for the immediate apprehension of the two suspects.

The juvenile is out on $30,000 bond, while Boggan remains incarcerated in the Butler County Jail.

Police arrested one suspect during an afternoon drug raid on Hicks St. Monday.

Lydia Poole, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana, 2nd, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Officer Lane Strickland of the department's drug enforcement unit. Members of Greenville police's Special Response Team executed the search warrant at approximately 4:20 p.m. at 404 Hicks St., Poole's place of residence.

&#8220This house has been under surveillance for some time,” said Strickland.

Police along with the department's K-9 unit searched the home. Marijuana was discovered in a shoebox in the bedroom, according to Strickland, and officers found a pair of box cutters and small mirror on the living room floor.

The box cutters and mirror contained residue believed to be crack cocaine, said Strickland.
