Blood drives slated for county next week

Life is unpredictable. Accidents, injuries and natural disasters can strike unexpectedly, leaving people in urgent need of blood.

That still holds true during merrymaking of the holidays.

That's why citizens are being urged to remember those in need this Christmas season and to donate blood to help potentially save a life.

Life South Community Blood Center will be holding blood drives in two Butler County communities next week.

Georgiana will be the location of the first blood drive, to be held on Tuesday, December 26, in the Fred's parking lot at Highway 106 West.

Hours for the Georgiana blood drive are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Thursday, December 28, the City of Greenville is holding a blood drive at 119 East Commerce St. The Greenville drive will run from noon until 5 p.m.

All donors at either location will receive a recognition item and cholesterol screening. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be able to show a photo ID.
