The Georgiana Panthers varsity basketball team swept through play over the weekend to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Here are the results:

Georgiana 66, Excel 44

All 12 Panther players who dressed Friday night scored as Georgiana blew open a 20-point third period lead to take the win over the Excel Panthers, 66-44.

Jamie Williams was the Panthers' leading scorer with 16 points while Reco Johnson was the next-leading scorer with 10 points.

Terrance Matthews had eight points for Georgiana while Andre paige, Gerard Pleasant and Damien McIntosh each had six points apiece.

For Excel, Andreson was the leading scorere with 15 points while Hollinger had 10 in the loss.

Georgiana 60, Florala 55

Carrying a 17-point lead into the fourth period Saturday, the Georgiana Panthers managed to hang on for the victory over the Florala Wildcats, 60-55.

Jamie Williams scored a game-high 23 points for the panthers while teammate Andre paige also contributed 12 points.

Reco Johnson and Terrance Matthews also each had eight points in the win.

For the Wildcats, David Bass and Michael Carson each finished with 16 points apiece in the loss.

B-team

Georgiana 57, Excel 34

With just a five-point halftime lead against the Excel Panthers, the Georgiana Panthers' B-team opened a 20-point third period lead Friday en route to a 57-34 victory.

Tyrell West was the Panthers' leading scorer with 28 points while teammates Devin Cheatham and Chris Shows each contributed seven points apiece. Kevin Thomas also had six points in the win.

For Excel, Davis was the leading scorer with seven points.

Georgiana 38, Florala 22

All 14 players for Georgiana scored Saturday night as the Panthers took advantage of a four-point halftime lead to cruise to victory over the Florala Wildcats, 38-22.

Tyrell West was the game's leading scorer with 17 points while teammate Jelaun Johns also got into the scoring action with three points of his own.

For the Wildcats, Hakeem Dixon was the leading scorer with seven points in the loss.
