Following Greenville High's 10-3 football season and an appearance in the Class 5A quarterfinals in the state playoffs, the Tigers will hold their annual banquet Thursday, January 25 at 6 p.m. in the Greenville High cafeteria.

Bill Clark, head coach for the Class 6A state champion Prattville Tigers, will be the guest speaker at the banquet.

Greenville head coach Bryant Vincent said he came close to working for Clark as a coordinator several times before taking the Greenville job.

&#8220Coach Clark is a guy that I have a ton of respect for, the way he runs his program and what he has been able to accomplish,” Vincent said. &#8220He built Prattville like I want to build Greenville.”

Vincent said when Clark first arrived in Prattville, he had similar circumstances to deal with that he has had to deal with here in Greenville and that the Prattville program is a perfect model of how to turn a program willing to win into a champion.

The banquet will also include awards, which will be given out in several categories.

Vincent said he will present awards for the top offensive lineman, defensive lineman, linebacker, defensive back, offensive back, captains and the team's most valuable player.

The banquet will also feature a 10-minute clip of the season-long documentary Vincent had made. In-Focus produced the documentary and will have information on-hand for those wanting to purchase the video.

The banquet is open to the public and anyone interested in attending should contact Rodney Bush at 382-5464 to make reservations.

Tickets are $7 and include admission and dinner.
