Want to clean out your clutter and help keep local campuses clutter-free?

A group of Greenville

Middle School students needs your donations for their upcoming White Elephant Sale. The event is slated for 8 a.m. to noon Friday, April 6 at the Outdoor Classroom in front of Greenville Elementary.

The students, part of Nancy Idland's after school service-learning class at the BCELC, have already raised funds to put some attractive new trash receptacles for their campus.

Now they want to purchase more new trash receptacles for other Greenville campuses to help keep the Camellia City clean and tidy.

&#8220I'm trying to teach the kids how to give back, to have a sense of responsibility for the community - this is one way to do it,” said Idland.

&#8220We are reaching out to the community and asking for items they'd like to donate - new or used books, costume jewelry, lamps, linens, decorative household items and other things. If you want to do some spring cleaning, let us turn your trash into someone else's treasure!”

(The one item the group is not looking for is clothing; all items should be in good condition.)

A bonus: Idland will pick up donations at the donors' homes, schools, or offices.

&#8220Just call me at 382-8729 and we'll make arrangements to pick up your items,” Idland said.

For more information, contact Idland at the number above or Amy Bryan at 382-5199, ext. 1213.

&#8220If you have items to donate, please help us out – and plan to come to our White Elephant Sale on April 6,” Idland said.
