A sports-oriented movie designed to inspire the entire community is coming to Greenville in March.

Southside Baptist Church's Men on Missions is sponsoring a screening of &#8220Facing the Giants” at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007.

&#8220This will be shown in our sanctuary on the big screen and it's free to the entire community,” said Larry Norton of Southside.

&#8220Please take a moment to block off the time on your calendar to see an inspirational movie that shows how God works in lives both on and off the football field.”

Norton said members of the Greenville High School Tigers football team were present during the recent screening of a clip from the motion picture.

&#8220Facing the Giants” is the story of a coach, Grant Taylor, whose team, the Shiloh Eagles, has never experienced the satisfaction of a winning season.

Things get worse when his best player decides to transfer to another school.

After losing the first three games, Taylor discovers a group of parents are plotting to have him fired.

With increasing pressures at home and on the field, Taylor loses hope as he battles fear and failure.

Then, an unexpected challenge helps the beleaguered coach discover a life purpose bigger than just victories.

As he dares to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles learn how faith plays out both on and off the field.

&#8220We'd love to see people from all across the community attend the screening. It is free and probably better than anything on TV that Saturday night,” Norton said, adding, &#8220I can't promise popcorn but I do promise something to stand up and cheer about!”
