After being rained out Tuesday night, the Brad Horn era officially began Thursday night as the Greenville Tigers took on the Charles Henderson Trojans in an opening-day double header.

Although the weather was a huge contrast to Tuesday's downpour, the result of the games was not.

The Trojans took the first game over the Tigers by way of the mercy rule, 16-2, and then followed that up with another solid offensive performance by downing the Tigers 17-4.

&#8220You'll see (Charles Henderson) do deep into the playoffs,” Horn said.

The Tigers allowed an early Trojan run off of an error, but quickly answered when Josh Longmire reached base and was moved around by several bunts before scoring.

Greenville managed only three hits during the game, with senior Lynn Lewis, junior Casey Weston and Ethan Mauch each contributing one.

Longmire also scored the other run for the Tigers while Lewis picked up his first loss of the season.

The Tigers will host The Georgiana Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at Beeland Park.

In the second game:

Charles Henderson 17, Greenville 4

The Greenville Tigers scattered six hits during the second game against Charles Henderson Thursday night, but it was enough as the Trojans took an early lead and never looked en route to the 17-4 win.

Ethan Mauch was the leading hitter for the Tigers, going 2-for-3 with two RBI's.

Casey Weston was next for Greenville, going 1-for-2 with two RBI's.

Parker Winters picked up the loss for Greenville.
