A senior citizen's trip is being planned by Laura Elliott of Community Education to attend a play called &#8220Wallace/The Clayton Years” in Clayton,

Ala., on Friday, March 2, 2007.

The senior citizens who go will look forward to a home-cooked southern dinner at the Magnolia Inn in Clayton at 5 p.m.

Cost is $12.50 on your own.

The bus will leave from LBWCC in Luverne at 3:30 p.m.

The cost for the performance will be $22.50.

Music will be provided by Jessica Carpenter and the Women for Christ Praise Team.

Also, special music will be rendered by Shelia Jackson of Troy, Alabama.

Seven of Crenshaw County licensed child care providers attended a training class on Saturday February 17 at Meadowcrest Community Room.

These classes are conducted by the staff of the Family Guidance Center of Alabama of Dothan.

The child care providers are happy to be a part of Community Helpers.

All men and their sons are invited to attend the annual Swamp Supper this Saturday, Feb. 24th, to be held this year at the Tom Harbin Center on the Luverne Airport Road.

Come early and fellowship at this Christian event for men and boys only.

The speaker will be Jim Everidge, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lucas, Texas.

Pastor Everidge will also be preaching at the South Luverne Baptist Church Sunday morning service February 25th, and his Minister of Music, Bryan Gardner, will be providing special music.

The SLBC family will host a covered dish lunch following the morning worship service.

Those receiving special awards recognition were all smiles last Thursday, February 15th, at the first annual Crenshaw Domestic Violence Task Force awards reception at the Harrison Cultural Center.

Attending the Sav-A-Life auction at Park United Methodist Church last Tuesday night were Jackie Langford, Edna Norsworthy, Stana Traver and Doris Rogers.

The auction brought in several thousand dollars.
