On Saturday, February 3, 2007, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Laura Elliott attended a surprise 60th birthday party in honor of Laura’s aunt Mary Helen Fleming of Ramer, AL.

The party was held at Mossy Grove in Troy, AL, and a Mardi Gras theme was used to decorate the banquet room.

Everyone wore masks as they surprised the honoree.

Mary Helen was presented a Mardi Gras cape, crown, and necklace when she entered the banquet room as everyone else was given Mardi Gras beads and masks as party favors.

The guests were entertained with a poem read by her cousin Mr. Peavy Trotter, which reminisced the life of Mary Helen, and a reading was presented by her two grandchildren, Misses Morgan and Madeline Maxwell. Approximately 50 guests were in attendance, and Mary Helen received many gifts.
