In the wake of a tragedy, Greenville High School continues its mission to aid victims of the recent tornado that destroyed Enterprise High School, claiming eight students’ lives.

GHS started their Enterprise Disaster Relief Fundraising Drive last Monday, with each grade level challenged to raise at least $250 in order to help fellow teens and their families and to earn a day out of uniform.

By last Friday afternoon, March 9, more than $1,500 had already been collected, said GHS Principal Dr. Kathy Murphy on Monday.

&uot;We have several more donations that came into today from teachers and I see more dollars out there in the class jars in the lobby, so things are coming along,&uot; Murphy said.

She also lauded the Greenville Rotary Club, who &uot;passed the hat&uot; at last Thursday’s meeting and raised $120 to add to the relief funds.

&uot;It is great to have a community civic club like Rotary choosing to work with the school on this project,&uot; Murphy said.

&uot;We appreciate any and all help from the community in this effort.&uot;

The Enterprise Disaster Relief Drive continues through this Friday, March 16 at GHS.
