Rev. James Phillips, pastor of Midway Community Church, announces their upcoming Spring Revival, which will be held on April 1st – April 4th.

On Sunday morning, April 1st, Brother Mitchell Bowlan will bring the message at 10:30 a.m. Brother Richard Ward will be the guest speaker on Monday night at 7 p.m.

Brother Steve Defee will speak on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

The Wednesday night service on April 4th will host Brother Donald Young at 7 p.m.

The Brantley Rural Club held their March meeting on March 15th at 1:30 p.m. in the home of Jean Everage.

Ann Holland, president, called the meeting to order and gave the devotion.

The Friendship Quilt that the club is doing, which will be given to a family who has lost a loved one in the military, was discussed.

Mary Sasser and June Crowe were co-hostesses and helped serve an array of snacks.

Twelve members attended.

The next meeting will be held in the home of Inez Rayborn on April 19th at 1:30 p.m.

Rev. Greg Aman from Ozark First Baptist Church was the guest speaker at the Grateful Hearts Fellowship of South Luverne on March 8th at 6 p.m.

Pastor Mike Green welcomed everyone and blessed the meal that was served.

This church-wide fellowship featured the youth of SLBC as special guests.

Pastor Greg has an outstanding ministry using the Potter's Wheel as he shares the word of God and tells the Biblical story of the Potter Jesus Christ.

His wife came with him.

Everyone was blessed by the special music that was rendered by Tim and Kathy Dowdy, who sang two songs in closing.

In the very near future, South Luverne Baptist Mission Team will hold a Mission Trip Auction.

Any donations of items toward this fundraiser will be appreciated.

The SLBC Mission Team will be going to Honduras this summer, along with mission team members from other churches.

The Beta Sigma Phi met on March 20th at the Jan Cook Center in Dozier with 10 members and three guests present.

Ann Tate of Luverne gave a very interesting and informative oral presentation on domestic violence and the work being done in Crenshaw County with a very active Domestic Violence Task Force in place to combat this terrible act that occurs in all walks of life.

On April 28th, the sorority will observe Founders Day.

They celebrate this day by giving generous donations to Brantley, Dozier and Spring Hill Fire Departments.

The Brantley Rescue Department also receives a donation. The sorority includes the Crenshaw County Domestic Task Force with a monetary gift.

Kay Moody and Janice Norman were co-hostesses for this March meeting.

South Luverne Baptist Church Relay for Life Team extends a special invitation to come have lunch with them immediately after church on Sunday, April 1st.

The charge will be $5 a plate.

If you are coming from other churches, feel welcome to come on as soon as you can, and fall in line for a great home-cooked meal.

Also, SLBC invites you to join them for worship.

The Luverne Garden Club will host their plant and bake sale on April 7th from 8 a.m. until.

This event will be held at the Furman Mitchell Multipurpose Center on South Forest Avenue in Luverne.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Tomberlin had as their recent guests their grandson, Vernon Moody, Ms. Nancy Taylor, a music professor, Laura Harbin and Jon Croy from The University of Alabama. They went to Enterprise for two days and helped the tornado victims by working in the devastated areas.

PRAISE REPORT. . . Over 350 women of all ages came from all different directions of Crenshaw County, other counties, and even from other states to attend the very first Women's Conference of its kind in Crenshaw County.

This special event,

sponsored by Crenshaw County Women for Christ, was held at South Luverne Baptist Church on Saturday, March 24th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The church was decorated with an array of beautiful spring floral arrangements to carry out the theme of the conference, &#8220Bloom Where You Are Planted.”

Kim Hendrix, a news anchor and reporter at WSFA-TV, and who also developed a praise and worship service for women called &#8220Shine Your Light” at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery that meets every month, was the guest speaker.

She blessed everyone with two messages, &#8220Tomorrow We Walk” and &#8220Blessings of our Tragedies.”

One of the highlights was hearing &#8220The Women for Christ Praise Team”, which is a team of young college women who have been called to serve God through song.

The group consisted of Ren Sutton on lead guitar, Amanda McClendon on the drums and Katie Bandy and Jessica Carpenter with vocals.

They have been given the opportunity to attend the International Training Mission Project this summer in Brazil.

Shelia Jackson, Director of Public Relations and Tourism for the City of Troy, was outstanding as she rendered several songs with her beautiful voice.

From the response,

all who experienced this wonderful spirit-filled conference went away with a song in their heart and a new meaning of the idea of &#8220Blooming Where You are Planted.”

The Steering Committee of CCWFC is to be praised for a well-planned and organized conference for women.

They gave all the glory and praise to God.

Hopefully, a conference of this kind will be an annual event.
