Lady Tigers drop thriller to Demopolis

The Greenville Tiger softball team fell to 4-7 on the season Friday as the Demopolis Tigers opened a 3-0 first-inning lead and held on for the victory, 4-3.

Greenville out-hit Demopolis 12-4, but six errors in the field put the Tigers behind for good.

Brittany White and Kristi Garlock lead Greenville with three hits apiece. Kristi Garlock also hit a double and scored a run.

Kayla Garlock was next for Greenville with two hits, followed by Cortnee Myers, Nicole Norton, Kairee Newton and Marvia Scott each with a hit.

For Demopolis, Simmons was the leading hitter with a pair of hits, followed by Patterson and Davis with one hit apiece.

On the mound, McGee earned the win for Demopolis while White picked up the loss for Greenville. White struck out 15 Demopolis batters in the loss.

The Greenville Lady Tigers return to action Thursday as they play host to the Robert E. Lee Generals at 4:30 p.m.
