Butler County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney held a meeting Tuesday morning with Georgiana High School head football and baseball coach Donald Ray Mixon, who was placed on administrative leave with pay last week in response to improper misconduct charges by a female student, but no decision has been made on Mixon's future.

Looney declined to comment on what transpired during the meeting, but he added the issue would be further addressed at Thursday's Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. in the Georgiana High auditorium.

Efforts to reach Mixon for comment were unsuccessful.

Mixon is in his third season as head baseball coach and just completed his first full season as head football coach.

Bill Sharp, assistant football coach, has been named interim head baseball coach and will serve alongside Patrick Nelson, current assistant baseball coach.
