A Greenville woman has been arrested for the murder of a man at his home Friday evening, according to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden.

Gloria Revins, 56, of 415 S. Park St. is facing murder charges for shooting Ronnie Scott, 54, to death at his rural residence just outside the city limits of Greenville.

&#8220The case is still under investigation by our office and the Department of Forensic Scientists,” said Sheriff Kenny Harden.

District Judge MacDonald Russell set Revins' bond at $50,000 during a bond hearing on Monday. Revins, wearing ankle chains and handcuffs, was calm during her appearance in court and openly talked with Deputy Pearl Jones, her escort, while awaiting the start of her hearing.

On Friday, Harden said deputies received a call at 6:21 p.m. in reference to shots fired at 72 Snow Dr.

&#8220Our deputy arrived on the scene to find the door open to the residence,” said Harden. &#8220When he investigated inside he found the body of the victim in the bathroom, dead of multiple gun shot wounds.”

Harden said he received information that led him to believe Revins' was the suspect and notified other area law enforcement. Revins was arrested at her listed residence in Greenville at 7:55 p.m., said Harden.

She was interviewed at the Butler County Courthouse and then transported to the jail. Harden said judging from the preliminary interview and investigation on the scene, the shooting was the result of an altercation that began between Revins and Scott.

The shooting is the first murder case in Butler County in 2007.
