Red Sox silence Dixie Chicks

The Red Sox scored six runs in the third inning and five more in the fourth Monday to lift the Red Sox over the Dixie Chicks in Dixie Ponytails action, 13-10.

Bridgejue Patterson and Ashley Ballard each had a hit for the Red Sox (1-1), with Ballard scoring two runs and Patterson scoring one.

Tue Patterson scored three runs to lead the Sox, followed by Haley Williams with two runs and Hannah Johnson, Brittany Reaves, Kristen Welch, Kristen Reaves and Maria Betton each with one.

For the Dixie Chicks (0-2), Anne Matthews was 2-for-3, including a double and two runs scored, Colby Benson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Brooke was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Jasmine Morris scored two runs while Brittany Gard, Mia Taylor and Alex Courtney each scored one.

The Red Sox will take on the Heat Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and the Dixie Chicks will take on the Angels at 6 p.m.

Heat 12, Angels 1

The Heat scored four runs in the first inning Monday and it proved to be enough as they held on for win over the Heat via the mercy rule, 12-1.

A.J. Sanford was the leading hitter for the Heat (2-0), going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Dana Moore was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, Rebecca Dicks was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, Hannah Burnette was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Kayla Herring and Faith Keeney were each 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Taylor Merry also scored a run in the win.

For the Angels (1-1), Jenna Dorman was 1-for-1 with thr lone run scored.

Burnette struck out 12 Angel batters in the win.

The Heat will take on the Red Sox Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and the Angels will take on the Dixie Chicks at 6 p.m.

Angels 15, Red Sox 5

Three Angels players scored three runs apiece Saturday en route to the first win of the season over the Red Sox, 15-5.

At the plate, Keonna Brown had the lone hit, going 1-for-2 with two runs scored, while Alisha Stewart, Amber Harris and Jenna Dorman each scored three runs in the win.

Linsey Niehaus scored two runs while China Powell and Bethany Nolan each scored one for the Angels.

Offensively for the Red Sox, Ashley Ballard and Maria Betton had the only two hits.

Haley Williams, Hannah Johnson, Brittany Reaves Adrianna Joyner and Ballard each scored a run for the Sox.

Heat 16, Dixie Chicks 1

Despite having no hits, three Heat players scored three times each to capture the first of the season over the Dixie Chicks, 16-1.

A.J. Sanford, Taylor Merry and Daphne Moore each scored three runs apiece, Kasi Graham scored two and Dana Moore, Hannah Burnette, Rebecca Dicks, Kayla Herring and Whitney Boswell each scored one.

Jasmine Morris scored the lone run for the Dixie Chicks.
