Brittany Gard had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs Thursday to help lift the Dixie Chicks to their first Dixie Ponytails win of the season over the Angels, 14-10.

Gard was the leading hitter for the Dixie Chicks (1-2), followed by Lexie Bargainer, Brooke Bland and Jade Watson with one hit apiece.

Jasmine Morris and Watson each scored three runs, Gard and Anne Matthews each scored two and Colby Benson, Bland and Kendra McNaughton each scored one in the win.

For the Angels (1-2), Alisha Stewart, Linsey Niehaus, Bethany Nolan and Jenna Dorman each had a hit and scored a run while China Powell, Keonna Brown, Amber Harris, Brandi Cofer, Lexus Jenkins and Samantha Browder each scored a run.

The Dixie Chicks will return to action Monday as they take on the Heat at 7:30 p.m. The Angels will take on the Red Sox at 6 p.m. Monday.

Heat 15, Red Sox 1

Daphne Moore had two hits and scored two runs Monday as the Heat took care of the red Sox, 15-1.

Taylor Merry and Hannah Burnette also each had a hit, with Merry scoring four runs and Burnette scoring two, while A.J. Sanford scored three runs, Dana Moore scored two and Rebecca Dicks and Faith Keeney each scored one.

The Heat will take on the Dixie Chicks Monday at 7:30 p.m., and the Red Sox will take on the Angels at 6 p.m.
