Safe Harbor, the Children's Advocacy Center, Inc., is celebrating a decade of helping children in crisis.

&#8220It's hard to believe, but we have been here ten years. We are so happy to be able to serve these kids who are in need and make a positive difference in their lives,” said Kathy Smyth, director of Safe Harbor.

To mark the center's 10th anniversary, Safe Harbor is inviting the public to be a part of the festivities - specifically, a part of a delicious new project, &#8220Taste of Greenville.”

&#8220We are asking the community to help us by submitting their favorite recipes for consideration in the cookbook we are compiling,” Smyth said.

&#8220You will have an opportunity to sample these great recipes at the ‘Taste of Greenville' Dinner and Celebration,” said Smyth. The date and time of the event will be announced at a later date.

The Greenville-based center serves abused children in Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes Counties, along with their siblings and non-offending parents.

Safe Harbor works in coordination with law enforcement, the court system, the Department of Human Resources, and professional therapists to assist youngsters traumatized by violence and abuse.
