Glenwood#039;s Festival at the Well slated for May 19

The 14th Annual Festival at the Well will be held in the town of Glenwood on Saturday, May 19. It is traditionally held on the third Saturday in May.

The historic flowing well in the center of this community is the site of the event, which begins at 9 a.m., with a parade through the center of town.

Activities will be ongoing all throughout the day and into the evening with a community street dance beginning at 8 p.m. Tables are available at the street dance, and limited booth space is also still available for the festival.

Admission price is $2; after 5 p.m., the admission price is $4.

Live stage entertainment throughout the day will include local country, gospel and bluegrass music as well as dance entertainment. Ricky &#8220Little Hank” Fitzgerald and Luverne's Brittany King along with the SheBang Cloggers are just a few of the local talents who will be performing for the audiences.

The Flowing Well grounds will be filled with arts and crafts booths, food booths and plenty of games for the children, including the car rides and the Moon Walk.

The Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department will cater smoked barbecue, and several valuable door prizes will be awarded throughout the day to those who are present.

Festival at the Well T-shirts are on sale now for $12 each, and they will be available also on the day of the festival. In addition, cookbooks will be on sale for $15 the day of the festival.

Festival-goers will enjoy the Sweet Shop, which will be filled with cakes, pies, brownies and an assortment of other treats for sale throughout the day.

One of the biggest events during the day will be the children's beauty pageants, which will begin at 10 a.m. Parents can register their children for the pageants now up until 9 a.m. the morning of the festival.
