Braves clip Rangers by one

Daniel Nolan scored the winning run in the seventh inning Thursday as the Braves took the close Dixie Majors victory over the Rangers, 6-5.

At the plate for the Braves (10-1), Alex Tindall was 2-for-3 with a homerun, Steven Lee was 2-for-3, Brady Newton was 1-for-2 with a double and a two runs scored, Nolan was 1-for-2 with a run scored, Andrew Phelps was 1-for-3 with a run scored, Ty Newton was 1-for-4 with a run scored and Paul Whigham was 1-for-4.

For the Rangers (7-3), Kevin Brogden was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Jerrod Lee was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Jamie Busch was 1-for-2 with a double, Andre Paige was 1-for-2, Kyle Nelson was 1-for-3 with a double and two runs scored and Rico Johnson scored a run in the fourth inning.

The Braves will close out the regular season Monday against the A's at 8 p.m., and the Rangers will take on the Nationals at 6 p.m.

Rangers 9, A's 0

Chris Shows struck out 16 batters Tuesday as the Rangers shut out and shut down the A's, 9-0.

Offensively for the Rangers, Kyle Nelson was 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Shows was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, Kevin Brogden was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Andre Paige was 1-for-3 with a double, Kenny Peterson was 1-for-3 with a homerun and a run scored, Rico Johnson was 1-for-3, Jerrod Lee was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Adones Peterson was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Terrance Whittle scored two runs.

For the A's, Brandon Croley had the only hit in the final inning.

Braves 23, Nationals 0

Every player for the Braves scored at least two runs Tuesday as the Braves dominated the Nationals in the win, 23-0.

At the plate for the Braves, Steven Lee was 3-for-3 with four runs scored, Kendall Gibson was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored, Alex Tindal was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored, Brady Newton was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Stephen Croley was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, Paul Whigham was 2-for-3 with a homerun and three runs scored, Thomas Nolan was 1-for-2 with three runs scored, Andrew Phelps was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and Thomas Phelps was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

For the Nationals, Derrell Robinson was 1-for-1 and Jeffrey Searight was 1-for-2.

Lee struck out eight batters in the win.

Dixie Minors

Braves 8, Indians 6

The Braves scored five runs in the third inning Thursday and held on for the close victory over the Indians, 8-6.

Offensively for the Braves (12-3), Anthony Dunbar was 1-for-1 with a double and two runs scored, Dalton Weeks was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Payton Frazier was 1-for-3 with a run scored, Will Petty was 1-for-3 and Draklin Scoggins, Price Jones and Robert Scarver each scored a run in the win.

For the Indians (2-13), Deaton Owens was 2-for-3 with a homerun, a double and two runs scored, Chardarius Davison and Will Smith were each 1-for-3 with a run scored, Steiner Hamilton was 1-for-3 and Cody Parker and Dalton Hood each scored a run.

The Indians will close out the regular season Monday against the Yankees at 6 p.m.

Orioles 13, Yankees 4

The Orioles scored four runs in the first inning, five runs in the third and three runs in the fourth Thursday as they cruised to victory over the Yankees, 13-4.

At the plate for the Orioles (6-8), Cody Harrell was 1-for-1 with three runs scored, Brady Vincent was 1-for-1 with a run scored, Colby Booker was 1-for-3 with three runs scored, Dillon Brown scored two runs and Ross Till, Kris Wilson, Austin Brown and JaQuan Lewis each scored a run.

For the Yankees (4-10), Donte Lee was 2-for-2 with a run scored, Barrett Bush was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, C.J. Savage and Cole Davis were each 1-for-2 and Austin Vickery scored a run.

The Orioles will close out the regular season Monday against the Red Sox at 7:30 p.m., and the Yankees will take on the Indians at 6 p.m.

Mite league

Rangers 14, Pirates 9

Luke Taylor and Daniel McKeown scored three runs apiece Thursday to pace the Rangers to victory over the Pirates in Mite league action, 14-9.

Offensively for the Rangers (3-3), Taylor and McKeown scored three runs apiece, Cole English, Dedric Owens and Bryan Folds scored two runs apiece and Keller Rogers and Tyler Stone each scored one in the win.

For the Pirates (1-7), Leo Parker and Clay Newton each scored two runs while Tanner Cartwright, Kobe Bowen, Mason Keen, Tyler Powell and Zachary Burt each scored one.

The Rangers will take on the Giants Monday at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 1 while the Pirates will take on the White Sox at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2.

White Sox 18, Mets 6

Nine White Sox players scored at least one run apiece Thursday en route to victory over the Mets, 18-6.

Offensively for the White Sox (5-2), Ryan Davis, Skilar Moorer and Trevor Langford each scored three runs, Taylor Thomas, Brandon White and Tyler Owens each scored two runs and Anthony Savage, Jamar Rudolph and Jerrod Johnson each scored one.

For the Mets (0-7), Sullivan Harris scored two runs while Blake Anthony, Sam Bowen, Sidaryus Harris and Justin Bell each scored one.

The White Sox will take on the Pirates Monday at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2 while the Mets will take on the Yankees at 7 p.m., on Dunbar 1.
