The ranks of Rotary International Paul Harris Fellows swelled by four Thursday when former Greenville club presidents Gerry Adair, Daisy Norman, Bobby Rogers and David Scott were inducted into the prestigious worldwide circle.

&#8220Each of you has served this club and our community with distinction,” Roy Hale, current president of the club, said in making the presentations.

The award is named in honor of Paul Harris, founder of the club now in its 102nd year as the world's oldest service club. Its foundation promotes world understanding through humanitarian, educational and cultural exchanges.

The Greenville club is in its 68th year and meets each Thursday at the Boys and Girls Club.

Rogers was also named recipient of a club service award for his contributions to the organization while Col. Earl Tisdale was recognized for his work as sergeant-at-arms for the 2006-07 year that officially ends June 30.

Board members Connie Coleman, Jim Dunklin, John Feathers, Wayne Killough, Lisa Nimmer, Rogers, Dr. Everett Snow and Dr. Jean Thompson drew praise for their year-long commitment.

Coleman assumes the president's role July 1 for the 48-member club.
