The Grateful Hearts group of South Luverne Baptist Church is sponsoring a very special event to be held on Thursday, July 12th at 7 p.m. in their main sanctuary.

The public is invited to attend.

Dr. Harold Fanning of Hartsville, Alabama, will be the guest speaker.

He has served as a Southern Baptist pastor for the past 25 years.

He is now serving as senior pastor at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Decatur.

Dr. Fanning is a freelance writer for several magazines and periodicals and is the author of &#8220Life in the Skillet” and &#8220Life Along a Dirt Road.”

Come meet the author as you hear rib-tickling episodes as he takes you down the dirt roads of the rural South.

You will laugh and cry and learn a few lessons along the way.

Ronald Fletcher Bozeman of Gin Creek Road was honored on his 60th birthday when his children hosted a cook-out at the home of Britt and Angela Arthur near Glenwood.

Fletcher's children are Denice (Dee Dee) & Ben Green, Ronnie & Shae Bozeman, Angela & Britt Arthur and Mathew Lee & Meredith Bozeman.

Fletcher and Elaine have nine grandchildren.

The celebration included friends and family who enjoyed the cook-out with all the trimmings and a decorated birthday cake.

The Brantley Rural Club met for their June meeting on the 21st at 1:30 p.m. in the Meadowcrest Community Room.

Edna Norsworthy opened with prayer and read a reading, &#8220Today I Will Make a Difference”, by Max Lucado.

A copy was given to all in attendance.

Ann Holland, president, called the meeting to order and held a brief business meeting.

Delores Mount gave the treasurer's report and stated that this month was the time to send their annual monetary donations to the fire departments and rescue squads.

The club is now selling bottles of flavoring as one of their fundraisers.

It was also discussed that a quilt will be ready soon in Meadowcrest Community Room for the club to help quilt.

Everyone will be called to help soon.

Louise Morgan and Edna Norsworthy were hostesses and served refreshments to ten members in attendance.

The annual Milton reunion will be held this Saturday, June 30th, at the home of Bobby and Becky Welch at 324 Milton Road in the Ivy Creek Community.

This special event of the descendants of Jim and Flora Milton has been held at the old home place for over seventy years.

It first started as a fish fry for all their children in the early 30's and it grew from there.

The reunion is always held on the Saturday before the first Sunday in July of each year.

All 12 of Jim and Flora Milton's children were born in the old home place.

The 12 children, along with several of the grandchildren, have passed away.

There are 12 grandchildren left, and they all look forward to getting together to honor their heritage.

Becky's mother, Connie Johnson, one of the daughters, lived there until her death.

Becky and her brother, James William Johnson, were born there.

All friends and relatives are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Michelle Carpenter, Vacation Bible School Director at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brantley, announces their Bible school that will begin on Sunday evening, July 8th, at 6 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

The VBS will be held through Wednesday night, the 11th.

All children are invited to &#8220Game Day Central”, with sports-related activities.

The teachers and leaders are ready for a fun-filled week as they teach about God's love, and they encourage parents to bring their children for this special learning time.
