Sanders Family Reunion

The Johnny and Frankie Sanders' descendants and their families met for a Sanders family reunion at Oak Bowery Church of Christ on Saturday, June 16, 2007.

The original settlers of this Sanders family, Francis Sanders and his family, came from South Carolina to Barbour County, Alabama, and then settled in Pike County at the Oak Bowery Community in 1851.

Jacob Sanders, son of Francis Sanders, established the Sanders family cemetery which is still in operation.

Johnny Sanders, son of Jacob Sanders, established his family homestead near the current Oak Bowery Church of Christ.

Displayed at the reunion were copies of early family history documents and old family photographs.
