14-year-old All-Stars advance to finals

The 14-year-old Dixie Boys’ Greenville All-Star team traveled to Eufaula to play in the District Tournament.

The team will play Troy in finals.

Here are the results of the previous games:

Greenville 11, Eufaula 4

The game ended on a spectacular note as Greenville turned a triple play to record the last three outs.

Eufaula loaded the bases with no outs, and a line drive was tipped into the glove of the second baseman, who threw to the shortstop standing on second base.

The shortstop relayed the throw to first base before the runner could make it back to complete the triple play.

Daniel Frazier led the way for the team, going 2-3 with a two-run home run to give his team a 3-1 lead at that point in the game.

Todd Burkett went 1-3 with three runs scored, and Hunter Harrell scored two runs.

Jonathon Scott went 2-4 and scored a run, and Nick Davis also scored a run.

Both Jared Edge and Rush Nimmer went 1-3 and scored a run, while Caleb Parsons was 1-4.

Nimmer was the winning pitcher, and Scott recorded the save.

Greenville 6, Troy 2

The second game of the tournament for Greenville also ended in a sensational fashion, with a walk-off grand slam by Todd Burkett.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, both Jeremy McGinty and Nick Davis laid down bunt singles.

After loading the bases, Burkett connected with a 3-2 pitch to win the game for Greenville.

Burkett also picked up the complete game win, giving up four hits and one earned run, while recording seven strikeouts and no walks.

Rush Nimmer was 1-3 with an RBI, and Caleb Parsons scored a run.

Greenville 8, Ozark 3

Against Ozark, Rush Nimmer got the win for Greenville, striking out seven, while giving up no hits, no earned runs and five walks.

Daniel Frazier came in for the save, with seven strikeouts, one hit, no earned runs and four walks.

Todd Burkett had another good night at the plate, going 2-3 and scoring four runs.

Hunter Harrell was 1-2 with two runs scored, while Eli Blackmon was 1-2 and scored a run.

Jonathon Scott went 1-3 and scored a run.
