The Love Inc. Youth Center, located at Sixth and Barbara streets in Luverne, will hold a registration day on Saturday, July 28, for their after-school children's program and for their Boys and Girls Scouts programs.

The designated time to sign up for these programs is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

&#8220We have limited space for our after-school program, so we want our working parents to get signed up immediately,” Ron Hackathorn, Love Inc. Youth Center director, said. &#8220All of these programs are no-cost programs, as well.”

Hackathorn said the after-school children's program would be for working parents only. Their children could stay at the center Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and this includes kids from kindergarten through 12 years of age.

The program will also include help with the child's homework, a snack lunch, clean entertainment, such as music and/or videos, and other activities such as ping pong, video games and pool.

Hackathorn added that transportation to and from the center would be the parents' responsibility.

Another program Love Inc. will be starting soon is Boys and Girls Scouts. The ages of the program are from 7 to 12. The cost of each scout will be approximately $50 per year.

&#8220We plan to seek help from businesses and individuals to sponsor a child so as not to put a financial burden on the parents,” Hackathorn said.

&#8220We are still looking for volunteers and mentors at the center to help us with these programs,” Hackathorn said.
