Mr. P. L. Compton encourages everyone to help support a fundraiser to help support three cemeteries.

Each year they have a quilt donated to help with this worthwhile cause.

The up-keep of these cemeteries has been ongoing since 1990.

The beautiful 8-point star full-size quilt with 4 pillows in the color of maroon and beige was donated by a friend and quilted by another friend.

The three cemeteries are the New Spring Hill South Cemetery, located in front of the church, Spring Hill Community Cemetery, located north of the church, and Mt. Olive Cemetery, located one mile south of Spring Hill Church.

All are located on County Road 39, or Spring Hill Road.

Mr. Compton is a trustee on the cemetery committee,

and expresses appreciation for any donations.

For each $1.00 donation, you get one chance in a special drawing to be held in October at their annual camp stew supper that will be held in Spring Hill Church fellowship hall on Saturday, Oct.13, 2007.

You do not have to be present to win.

Joquin Baptist Church held their annual Homecoming on Sunday, July 22, 2007.

Pastor Wesley Hatcher welcomed everyone.

After the special music by the choir, he introduced Rev. Frank Lowery, a former Joquin pastor, as the guest speaker.

Rev. Lowery gave a heartfelt message on the heritage of Joquin, and the importance of families carrying on the legacy of telling others the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the founders of the church had started years ago.

A bountiful meal was served following the worship hour.

A time of fellowship was enjoyed by all.

Rev. Jim Tate was the speaker for their three-night revival Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

South Luverne Mission Team shared testimonies in the 6:00 p.m. service last Sunday night about their recent trip to Honduras.

There were more tears than laughter as they talked about their experiences with the people and children of Honduras.

There will be a joint meeting soon with all the mission teams from other churches.

Then the teams from Brantley UMC, Luverne UMC, Joquin Baptist and Danielville Baptist will share more in depth of the mission trip experiences.

Tori Free, daughter of Jimmy and Barbara Free, shared about her mission trip with Mt. Zion Baptist Church to New Orleans.

SLBC team consists of Will Tate, Allen & Tammie Byrd, Kade Campbell, Lacey Phillips, Tracy Watson, Shelby Welch and daughter, Danielle.

Jessica Carpenter, daughter of Alan and Angela Carpenter, and Courtney Green, daughter of Mike and Lisa Green will be sharing and showing pictures of their recent mission trips on Wednesday night, July 25th.

Jessica served in Brazil.

Courtney served in China.
