Last week was an exceptionally good week for me, and the only thing that kept me from a perfect record was Kentucky.

Not that I’m complaining.

I love the underdog (unless my team is the favorite).

Speaking of the underdog, look out for Mississippi State this week against West Virginia.

The Bulldogs have shown that they are not pushovers this year, and won’t be intimidated by anywhere they have to travel.

I’m not saying that it’s going to happen, but it’s a possibility.

It also looks like this week’s biggest games are in the SEC.

Auburn-LSU, Bama-Tennessee and Florida-Kentucky are all huge games.

What’s going on the rest of the country?

USC-Notre Dame?

Auburn at LSU

These two teams come in on very different notes.

LSU suffered a huge upset against Kentucky last week, and you can bet they don’t want their home winning streak snapped.

Another loss would also put a dent in their national championship hopes, although with the way this season has gone, a two-loss team wouldn’t be out of the picture.

Auburn pulled it out in the last minute against Arkansas last week, and this is another tough road test for the Tigers.

It’s always a knock-down, drag-out brawl when these two teams meet, and this year won’t be any different.

LSU 17, Auburn 13

Tennessee at Alabama

Ahhh, the Third Saturday in October, when the Crimson Tide face off against their second most hated rival.

Alabama has been the cardiac kids this season, but sometimes it hasn’t gone their way.

You can bet all 92,000 fans at Bryant-Denny will be ready to unload on the Vols.

It will be a close game, but even with Halloween approaching, I don’t see this ending too well for the Great Pumpkin (a.k.a. Phillip Fulmer).

North Texas at Troy

It’s homecoming for Troy this week.

The Trojans have a four-game winning streak going, and you can bet they don’t want to break that streak in front of all the friends and alumni that are going to be packed into Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

The Mean Green only have one win so far this season, and I don’t think they’re going to add to that total Saturday.
