What did I tell you about cold weather bringing out the best in football? The Packers-Giants game was one for the ages as the temperatures dropped below zero to make it the third coldest NFL game ever.

I hate that Favre and company lost, but I can’t be mad because it was a Troy alum that nailed the game-winning kick.

But does the championship game make for a boring matchup?

If you would have asked me back in December if I would watch a Giants-Patriots Super Bowl, I would have first told you that you were crazy for thinking that the Giants would even make it.

Secondly, I would have told you that I’d probably rather watch American Gladiators than that massacre.

Now I think I’ve changed my mind.

I watched the last half of the Dec. 29 matchup that pitted these two teams against each other.

The Giants had an opportunity to wreck the Patriots’ perfect regular season, and they almost did.

The G-men led the Patriots until the fourth quarter, and still didn’t go away when the Pats took the lead.

Now the Giants have another chance to wreck the Patriots’ season.

Eli Manning isn’t having some of the greatest playoff performances of all time, but he has kicked it up a notch.

He’s not turning the ball over, which is key.

In short, he’s not doing anything to cost his team the game.

It also seems that the entire team is getting hot at the right time.

Keep in mind the Giants beat the two best teams in the NFC in the last couple of weeks.

This matchup has the potential to be much better than it first looks.

The Giants are a gritty team, but I don’t think they have what it takes to knock off the Patriots.

The Patriots have been on another level this entire season.

Even when they’ve had an off-game, they’ve still been able to pull out the win.

Tom Brady was seen in a foot cast this week.

Big deal?

Nah.

He said he’d have to be in a stretcher to miss the game.

I think he’d have to be in a stretcher for the Giants to have a chance to win the game.

The Patriots just have too many weapons for the Giants to stop.

I think it’ll be a good, close game, but I say the Patriots put the exclamation point on the first undefeated season in modern history.
