There wasn’t an empty seat left in the family life center of Opp’s First Baptist Church Thursday as the community welcomed the Lamb Family at the fourth annual Mizell Memorial Hospital Foundation’s annual gala.

The sensational musical group composed of the four siblings of the Lamb Family – Caleb, Kolson, Kimmel and Karis – took to the stage at 8 p.m. with a violin quartet.

The group performed a variety of musical selections ranging from the fight songs of both The University of Alabama and Auburn University and theme music from Indiana Jones to a gospel rendition of “This Old Rugged Cross” and “America the Beautiful.”

The Aug. 14 performance in Opp is actually the second time the family will have appeared there, having been the entertainment at the hospital foundation’s first event in 2005.

Dinner consisted of an oriental salad with raspberry vinaigrette, followed by prime rib, steamed vegetables, potatoes and roll. Lime cheesecake was served as dessert. The meal was prepared by members of Mizell’s dietary staff.
