Edward Scarver, a resident of Greenville, died Monday, August 18, 2008 in Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 23, from the chapel of Hudson Funeral Services with the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating.

Burial followed in Union Churchyard Cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing.

Mr. Scarver leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Doris Scarver, a daughter, Edisha William, grandson, Edward D. Scarver II, all of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Bea Payne, loving and devoted Janie Poole; six sisters-in-law, Littie Scarver of Mobile, Ethel (Fred) Chambers, Callie Lewis, Mattie Powell, all of Greenville, Brenda (Lawrence) Smith of Birmingham, Mary Frost of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Frost of Greenville, Roy Allen Frost, J.C. (Darlene) Frost of Birmingham; uncle, the Rev. William Carter of Fla., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
