Mrs. Mary Essie Mason, 90, formerly of the Pleasant Home community, died Thurs., Sept. 18, 2008, in a Dothan hospital. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Kelley officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Foreman-Brown Service Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Mason had lived at Somerset Assisted Living for the last five and a half years.
Mrs. Mason is survived by one son, Ben Mason and wife Carol of Dothan; two daughters, Judy Miller and husband John L. Jr. of Midland City, Ala., and Jenny Manning and husband Bruce of Dothan; six grandchildren, Angela J. Mason, Benjamin Craig (Liliana) Mason, John L. Miller III, Melissa (Jeremy) Scarpate, Jeff Manning and Jessica Manning (Dustin) Goolsby; three great-grandchildren, Max Mason, Ana Mason and Julia Catherine Scarpate; and one sister, LaRue Joyner of Carrboro, N.C.
Pallbearers were John L. Miller III, Jeff Manning, Craig Mason, Dustin Goolsby, Ashley McKathan and Jamie Kelley.
Visitation was held Saturday at Foreman’s.
