The Opp Bobcats (3-1) will face off against the rival Straughn Tigers (4-0) tonight in Straughn.

So far this season, the Bobcats have racked up two wins in away games, winning at Holtville and St. James.

Head coach Jack Whigham said the Tigers have a good offensive scheme.

“They’ve got a good football team and are very good offensively,” Whigham said. “Ryne Taylor can throw the ball really well and they are a lot quicker than we are. They are very well coached as well. We are going to have to play our best game to have the opportunity to win.”

As far as practice this week, Whigham said it was a “normal” week.

“We’ve had a normal week of practice and now we are making sure we know our assignments,” he said. “We’ve been working on Straughn’s option game a lot. It’s important that we know our assignments and play hard.”

Whigham said that two players that stand out on Straughn’s team are senior wide receiver Jakim Felton and sophomore running back Eric Samuel.

Kickoff at Straughn is at 7 p.m.
