The Red Level Tigers (2-4, 0-4 in Class 2A, Region 1) will face Mobile Christian (0-6, 0-4) this Friday night for their homecoming game.

“It’s our homecoming,” head coach Tim Grimes said. “They’ve played the same tough season we’ve been playing. They’ve been beaten by a 5A team and a 3A team.”

Grimes said Mobile Christian has a wide receiver and running back that the team will try to keep in check.

“They’ve also got a quarterback who’s just a 10th grader,” he said. “He’s probably the best we’ve seen this year.”

Grimes said working on team morale at this point in the season is a top priority right now.

“We’ve been working on our feelings,” Grimes said. “We feel like we want to win. My kids have played hard all year. This year, we’ve been snake bit a few times and turnovers have hurt us. The kids are putting forth the effort, but we haven’t had the opportunity to have a big win.

“We know we have a good football team,” he said. “We just know we’ve done some things to hurt ourselves and we just hope we can bounce back.”

Kickoff in Red Level is at 7 p.m.
