Alma Blackwell

Mrs. Alma Kirkland Blackwell, 78, of Red Level, died Wed., Oct. 8, 2008, in the Andalusia Hospital.
Funeral services were held Fri., Oct. 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the South Church of God. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Truman officiated.
Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Charlotte Blackwell of Red Level and Jerry and Barbara Blackwell of Tallahassee, Fla.; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and James Lowery and Debbie and Paul Stacks, all of Red Level; eight grandchildren, Tammy Blackwell, Tonya (Shayne) Cox, Amanda (Greg) Hall, Devon (Marvin) Glaze, Jason Blackwell, Marcus (Heather) Stacks, Jody (Randall) Williams and Lorrie Stacks; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Avis Stroud of Red Level, Frances Craig of Montgomery and Evelyn (Ray) Smalls of Red Level; and four special children, Elbert and Jewel Craig and the Rev. Gene and Virginia Truman.
Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Blackwell; one sister, Lou Emma Griggs; and five brothers, Bill, Bob, J.B., Buck and Leroy Kirkland.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial be made to the South Church of God Building Fund, 33597 Hester Store Road, Red Level, AL 36474.
