Helen Pittman

Helen S. Pittman, 85, of Opp, passed away Thurs., Oct. 23, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. James Pickron and Bill Pritchett officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Francis Marlin Summerlin and Sabra Bell Summerlin and a native of Covington County. Before her retirement she was an office manager of Gunter Dunn and later Barrow Furniture Stores. She was also a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Her husband, Cecil Pittman, passed away in March 2008. Mrs. Pittman had the ability to accomplish things and had the desire to share her enjoyment with people and friends of her sons.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim Cravey and his wife Cindy and their children, Chad and his wife Maggie, Blake and his wife Mary Ellis, Ashley Gregory and husband Will; their sons, Harris and Henry and daughter, Madeline; son, Albert Cravey and wife Susan and their daughter, Elizabeth; foster son, Clyde Cain and wife Barbara; their daughter, Joy and Morris Nelson and their children Brittney, Hope and Parker Nelson; their son Lance and his wife Trish Cain; stepson, Josh and Penny Pittman and their children, Mac and Molly Pittman, David and Lee Pittman, Nathan and Shannon Pittman, Elaine and Adam Gardner; and special caregivers, Jeanette Norris and family and Betty Long and family.
