Mrs. Clerapho Nobles, 90, formerly of Kinston, passed away Wed., Nov. 19, 2008, at The Terrace in Priceville. She was a homemaker, farmer and rural route mail carrier.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 22, from Wyatt Funeral Home with Stewart Young officiating. The eulogy was given by her grandson, Greg Esco. Special music was provided by Jack Cecil, the son-in-law of daughter Susan, and Kit Cecil, her grandson, with a guitar duet; organ music by Buddy Danley, and a trio by Steve Weeks, Scott Weeks and Preston Kelley.
Interment followed in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Q.P. Nobles; sisters, Lois Redmon and Edie Donaldson, and brothers, Herbert Johnson and Roland Johnson.
She was survived by her daughters, Angela Phillips and Susan Cecil; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jonathan Cecil and Blake Esco; nephews, Mike Nobles, David Johnson, John Bethea and Jerry Bethea Jr.

A remembrance from her daughters, Angela and Susan:
“At around 2:06 a.m. Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2008, we were very fortunate to be with our 90-year-old mother as her soul left her body and ‘flew away’ to Heaven. She had been struggling with the effects of a failing heart for a few months, and each day brought more weakness and a greater effort to breathe, but she continued to get out of bed every day and sit with her friends and caretakers, even on the last day of her life.
“In this season of Thanksgiving, we are thankful to have had our loving mother, for her long life on Earth and especially to have been with her as she left this earthly home.”
