Straughn is still struggling to find its identity after another home loss to Dale County Monday night, 55-40.

“It was basically like we played New Brockton,” Straughn coach Todd Reynolds said. “The game started out flat and cold. We found ourselves down 16-2.”

Reynolds said his team is still growing and that it takes time for them to gain experience.

“Dale County’s a 12-1 team and we played well. Defensively, we played well and from an offensive standpoint, we were not making shots and that’s where we are right now.”

Straughn’s Jakim Felton led his team with 15 points and Austin Pickrel scored seven points and had eight rebounds.

“We got up to within 12 points midway through the fourth, but we missed a couple of clutch shots,” Reynolds said. “The players are working hard and that’s all you can ask for,” he said. “Maybe that lid will come off the rim for us.”

Straughn will host Georgiana tonight. Tip off for the B-team starts at 4:30 p.m.
