No. 1 Andalusia (25-2) will not be holding anything back as the Bulldogs face No. 9 B.C. Rain (19-5) on the court in the finals of the Class 4A South Regional tournament in Troy today.

Andalusia coach Richard Robertson said he has been at this stage in the game before.

“I’ve been in a lot of big games since I’ve been here,” Robertson said. “We’re fortunate and proud to still be playing, but we’ve got to prepare for what we think they’re going to do and prepare for the unexpected.

“They have a good basketball team,” he said. “I have seen them at their best and they are going to be hard to handle. We’re going to have to play a good game and be mistake-free and not beat ourselves.”

B.C. Rain coach Willie Burns Jr. said it’s going to be a “competitive” match up.

“Andalusia is a good team,” Burns said. “I have a lot of respect for coach Robertson. He always does a good job with his teams. It’s going to be a competitive game and it’s a shame that only one of us from our region will be fortunate enough to have a chance for the state title.”

Robertson added the game today will be a hard one to win.

“It’s going to be a tough ball game to win,” he said. “There are so many factors that have got to be accounted for.”

Burns said he will go into today’s game with the same philosophy as he has every game this season.

“We’re going to play every game the same as have played every season,” Burns said. “We’re going to play hard and try to be competitive as we have every game. There will be no game plan, but to get out on the court and play. That’s the bottom line to be able to advance to state.”
