Mrs. Nancy Jean Carnes Rutherford, 83, of the Open Pond community, died Wed., Feb. 25, 2009, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held today at 11 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church in Andalusia. The Rev. Sidney McCollum and James H. Rutherford will officiate.
Survivors include her husband, Captain Ralph Baillie Rutherford, U.S. Navy (retired) of Andalusia; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Craig Nichols of Andalusia; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Susan Rutherford of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, Miles Addison Nichols, Andrew Rutherford Nichols, Amy Rose Rutherford, Arie-Jan Barendregt, Thomas Graf and Andrew Marsh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Carnes Stephenson, Beverly Carnes Stephenson and Tommye and Crawford Carnes Street; a special niece and wonderful caregiver, Ramona Caudle Brown of Andalusia and several other cousins nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents, James Homer and Addie Mae Carnes and her in-laws, Douglas Baillie and Amy Pearl Barnes Rutherford.
Memorial may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
