Mrs. Edith L. Venable Boone, 81, of Libertyville, died peacefully Sun., March 1, 2009, in the Florala Health and Rehab facility.
Funeral services were held Thurs., March 5, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Venable officiating. Special music was provided by Dorothy Zaenger. Interment followed in the Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby (Phil) Rockwell of New Whiteland, Ind., Shirley Kirk of Portage, Ind., Teresa Sledge of Andalusia, Pamela (Ray) Dixon of Winter Haven, Fla., and Connie (Steve) Cross of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim (Elaine) Kirk of Elizabethtown, Ky., Albert (Joann) Kirk of Andalusia, and Jerry (Veronica) Boone of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda James and Eloise (David) Womack, all of Scottsboro, Ala.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loyd Venable of Pinson, Ala., Bill (Cleo) Venable, Harsh (Pat) Venable and Leon (Margie) Venable, all of Scottsboro, Ala.; 11 granddaughters, 14 grandsons and 38 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include her grandsons: Larry Rockwell, William “Kip” Kirk, Christopher Sledge, Brandon Sledge, Jerry Sledge and Alex Garner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Boone; a daughter, Glinda Ziglar; parents, Albert and Ethel Venable, and brothers, Rayford Venable and Cecil Venable.
The family wishes to thank everyone at the Florala Health and Rehab Facility for all the loving care they gave their mother.
