Mr. Delmer H. White, 88, of River Falls, formerly from Elizabethtown, Ken., died Wed., March 4, 2009, at the Opp hospital.
He retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of active service. Master Sgt. White received the following awards and medals: Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Clasp and Four Loops; European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars; World War II Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal (Germany); National Defense Service Medal and Untied Nations Service Medal.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Sat., March 7, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Terry Stewart and Minister David Paher officiating. Interment will follow in the River Falls Cemetery with full military honors. Keahey Funeral Home will be directing.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mount Dora Children’s Home and Bible school, c/o Cedar Grove Church of Christ.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Delmer Larry (Patricia A.) White of Mills River, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Ann (Jeff) Deal of Andalusia and Catherine Marie (David) McNutt of Elizabethtown, Ky.; sister, Eunice Johnson of Utica, N.Y.; grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Amanda Miller, Lisa Johnson, Michael Healey, Tracie Jarvis, Holly Brown, Randall Day, Brandy Barefoot and Buffy Ennis; great Grandchildren, Jacob Johnson, Savanna Napper, Corey Wayne Jarvis, Ashley Jarvis, Katelynn Day, Lacey Johnson, Chastity Healey, Cameron Healey, Erica Ennis, Gracie Stacks and Grayson Stacks.
Pallbearers will include Bob Lynch, Keith Lynch, Roy Lynch, Billy Lynch, Michael Healey and Terry Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Wilson, Esker Thomasson, Charles Thomasson and Bart Gowan.
