Two other juveniles were arrested last week in conjunction with the vandalism in Andalusia’s Magnolia Cemetery.

Lt. Mike Bowlan of the Andalusia Police Department said a total of three juvenile arrests were made after reports of “mischief” at Magnolia Cemetery. Six headstones — most of which were originally place in the mid to late 1800s — were knocked off their pedestals on March 21.

The first arrest occurred on Thurs., Feb. 27; the other two, March 9. Each was charged with criminal mischief and desecration of burial grounds and were required to appear before District Judge Frank “Trippy” McGuire.

“Let’s just say the district judge made sure they had some constructive things to do with their time,” Bowlan said. “And it’ll be for quite some time too.”
