Andalusia Regional Hospital recently expanded its imaging services with the acquisition of MRI of Andalusia.

The new addition to the hospital’s family of services features freestanding Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit and a bone density scanner. While services will continue to be offered in its present location at 1823 East Three Notch St. in Andalusia, the center will be operated as a department of the hospital, allowing ARH to expand imaging services currently available.

“Bringing Open MRI into our family makes for a more coordinated flow of health care information for our patients,” said hospital CEO Mark Dooley. “It will provide enhanced continuity of care. We plan to offer the same great service with the same professional, courteous staff.”

The hospital includes a complete range of medical imaging procedures in general radiography and in subspecialty areas. Advanced technology includes an open bore 1.5T MRI unit inside the hospital as well as a 16 slice CT, 4D Ultrasound, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, digital mammography and bone densitometry. The freestanding center will now be called Open MRI of Andalusia: A Department of Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Open MRI of Andalusia is certified by the American College of Radiology and each of the technologists is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
