Johnnie Lou Wambles, 93, of Troy died Fri., May 1, 2009, at the Luverne Nursing Facility.
Funeral Services were held Mon., May 4, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial followed in the Ramah Cemetery in Josie with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing
Mr. Wambles was preceded in death by son, Johnnie Wambles Jr.; two grandchildren, Paul Wambles and Christopher Odierno; his wives, Gladys Rogers Wambles and Mary Emma Black Wambles; his children, Jimmy Golden of Troy, Charles Wambles of Clayhatchee, Richard and Shelia Wambles of Brundidge, Peggy and Davis Spann of Dothan, Lucy and Charles Bailey of Brantley, Theresa and Randy Miller of Troy, Molly and Perry Sanders Goshen, Geraldine Warrick of Troy, Mae Lassiter of Troy, Ray and Ann Wambles of Troy; a aughter-in-law, Martha Wambles of Banks; stepsons, Gene Rogers of Clayhatchee and Butch Rogers of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Dawn Finch, Troy, Jonathan Finch, Troy, Angila and David Brannon all of Rehobeth, Joseph Odierno of Dothan, Alex, Reed, and Brannon Golden of Troy, Britney and Cory Wambles of Troy, Samuel and Irrael Doster of Brundidge, Brenda and Ronnie Goolsby of Montgomery, Danny and Debra Sanders of Troy, Lee and Tammy Warrick of Troy, Debra Warrick of Troy, Sharon and Ray Crowe of Brantley, Brian and Jean Lassiter of Troy, Angie and David Tatom of Panama City, Fla., Todd Wambles, Michael and Kathy Wambles; 24 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jimmy and Helen Wambles of Andalusia, Ovie and Betty Wambles of Andalusia, Pauline Wambles Motes of Bartow, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Claranell Wambles; special friend, Johnny Mitchell; special niece , Lavonia Andrews; special nephews, Mac and Mary Mock and Wendall and Kim Mock.
Serving as pallbearers were Gene Rogers, Joseph Odierno, Eddie Mock, Danny Sanders, Stewart Mock and Johnny Mitchell. Honorary pallbearer will be Shelley Mock.
