Straughn, Pleasant Home win second games today

MONTGOMERY — Both Pleasant Home and Straughn won their second games today, and are headed to 3 p.m. games in the state softball tournament.

Pleasant Home defeated Spring Garden, 2-0, in nine innings in the noon game. It was Spring Garden who knocked the Lady Eagles out of the state tournament last year.

Straughn defeated Pisgah, 4-1, in seven innings. It was the second time the Lady Tigers had defeated Pisgah in the tournament.

Straughn plays Sumiton Christian in the elimination game in the 3A bracket; Pleasant Home faces Speake, who defeated the Lady Eagles, 2-1, in the opening game of the tournament. Both games are at 3 p.m.
