An arrest has been made in last Thursday’s murder of Travis Sasser, Sheriff Dennis Meeks announced this morning

Meeks said 28-year-old Michael D. Barbaree is charged with capital murder, first-degree arson and attempted murder.

Barbaree is being held without bond. He was previously convicted of a 2002 escape from the Covington County Jail with convicted murderer Oscar Roy Doster.
